A persistent operational disconnect remains embedded within modern finance; whilst global cross-border commerce, supply chains, and consumer e-commerce platforms operate continuously, institutional liquidity management remains tightly bound by traditional banking schedules, batch-clearing cut-offs, and weekend settlement blackouts.
To address this friction, Ripple announced significant upgrades to its enterprise platform, Ripple Treasury, at its Swell 2026 conference in New York. The platform connects core treasury management functionality, native artificial intelligence (AI), and digital payment infrastructure into a single operational interface.
Designed to move corporate cash management from static end-of-day visibility to continuous execution, early corporate adopters of the solution include American Airlines, Trax, Christian Louboutin, Subway, Adecco, and Kingfisher.
From Visibility to Real-Time Orchestration
Over the past decade, corporate treasury functions have invested heavily in Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to establish real-time cash visibility across multinational bank account structures. However, real-time visibility offers diminished value when execution capabilities remain tied to traditional clearing windows. When working capital imbalances occur outside standard clearing hours, corporate finance teams are often unable to rebalance funds or optimize yield until the next banking business day.
“Treasury is moving from visibility to action, and the emerging challenge is orchestration: connecting trusted data, intelligence, and the ability to move money so that better decisions turn into timely execution,” noted Kevin Permenter, Research Director at IDC. “Platforms that bring those layers together, rather than assembling them across providers, are addressing the constraint that matters most.”
The updated architecture connects core functional layers to coordinate cash, liquidity, and execution:
The 24/7 Yield Imperative
The launch coincides with changing liquidity management priorities across corporate finance functions. According to the 2026 AFP Liquidity Survey, corporate cash reserves have expanded significantly, with 46% of organizations increasing their US cash balances over the past year. Furthermore, 86% of treasury professionals indicated their organizations would utilize real-time money market instruments if aligned with internal investment policies, reflecting a growing focus on active cash deployment.
Despite this demand, operating cash held in standard demand deposit accounts (DDAs) over weekends and bank holidays typically remains uninvested, creating ongoing yield drag.
To address this gap, Ripple introduced 24/7 Returns, a capability allowing eligible corporate customers to generate yields on qualifying digital assets held within a Ripple wallet, including Ripple USD (RLUSD), the firm’s US dollar-backed stablecoin. By embedding yield generation directly within the native digital asset wallet layer, corporate finance teams can deploy excess operational cash outside standard banking hours without independently managing complex underlying blockchain protocols or third-party venues.
“When one of the core tenets of your business is payment accuracy and security, you have to have an incredible partner and ecosystem,” said Blake Tablak, CEO of Trax. “Our partnership with Ripple Treasury is just getting started and already returning value.”
Resolving Technology Stack Fragmentation
As instant payment schemes expand alongside institutional stablecoins and digital asset rails, treasury leaders face the risk of tech stack fragmentation. Assembling separate vendors for wallet custody, API banking aggregation, FX execution, and predictive analytics often introduces integration risk, complex vendor management, and reconciliation overheads.
Ripple’s single-platform approach integrates treasury management, cross-border payments, liquidity optimization, stablecoin issuing/settlement infrastructure, and enterprise custody into one environment.
“The way businesses move money is changing, and treasury needs to evolve with it,” said Renaat Ver Eecke, Senior Vice President of Ripple Treasury. “As AI accelerates decision-making and digital rails enable money to move around the clock, businesses need systems that can keep pace. Our vision is to bring treasury management, intelligence, and execution together, giving finance teams the ability to act faster and operate continuously without adding complexity or sacrificing control.”
For corporate treasurers navigating volatile interest rates and expanding global footprints, unifying real-time analytics with continuous execution rails offers a practical path toward eliminating weekend cash stagnation and establishing true 24/7 liquidity operations.
