Tieto Appoints Lasse Heinonen as CFO

Nordic IT services company Tieto has appointed Lasse Heinonen as chief financial officer (CFO) and executive vice president (EVP), effective 16 May 2011. In this position, he will be responsible for finance, treasury, corporate information and communications technology (ICT), risk management, and procurement, as well as communications and investor relations. He replaces Seppo Haapalainen.

Heinonen joins from Finnair, where he has worked since 2004, first as CFO of the company. In the CFO position, he was responsible for finance, controlling, treasury, procurement, IT and investor relations. Since 2009, Heinonen has served as Finnair’s deputy chief executive officer (CEO), as well as EVP with responsibility for the cargo business and aviation services, which include the group’s technical operations, ground handling and catering services.

Before joining Finnair, Heinonen worked as a CFO and in supply chain management roles in the pharmaceutical industry (i.e. Novartis and Sandoz) in Switzerland, Turkey and Finland.

Heinonen holds a MSc (Econ.) degree from the Turku School of Economics.
