Sage names chairman of audit and risk Jonathan Howell as CFO

UK-headquartered enterprise software giant Sage has promoted the chairman of its audit and risk committee Jonathan Howell to the position of chief financial officer. Howell will take over the role of CFO from Steve Hare, who was recently named CEO. Howell has previously held various senior management roles at Close Brothers and London Stock Exchange Group.

Asos promotes Mark Holland to chief operating officer

British online fashion and cosmetic retailer Asos has announced the promotion of Mark Holland, the company’s supply chain director, to the newly created role of chief operating officer. As the supply chain director, Holland headed Asos’s global trading, customer care and supply chain functions. In his new role as COO, he will be responsible for the management and delivery of Asos transformation projects and will report to Asos chief executive Nick Beighton.

SCOR reveals unit shake-up

Europe-based reinsurance company SCOR has announced the appointment of Christopher Smith as head of global financial solutions. Smith was previously responsible for corporate finance and treasury, and also served as head of group corporate finance for SCOR in Paris from January 2012. In his new role, he will report to David O’Brien, SCOR Global Life deputy head of global markets and head of client relationships.

Directorial change at ECC

German-headquartered European Commodity Clearing’s (ECC) supervisory board has announced the appointment of risk operations head Dr Götz Dittrich as chief operating officer. He will also join the Management Board. Dittrich joined ECC in 2013 as director of clearing and settlement; he is currently in charge of risk operations and physical settlement, as well as the development of the clearing systems.

myPOS announces senior appointments as sales shoot past €1bn

London-based fintech myPOS has hired Tim Davis as chief risk officer. Davis was previously at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP). myPOS has announced various other senior appointments including Andrew Byrne as managing director and Sophia Sodhi-Heugh as chief people officer. The firm has also brought on board Andrew Sutton as chief financial officer and Adrian Butterworth as head of legal and specialist in regulatory compliance.
