London-based investment bank Northland Capital has announced that ex-Grant Thornton Capital Markets chief Gerald Beaney will now head up its Corporate Finance team.

Beaney spent 15 years at Grant Thornton, where he founded the international mining team and executed 250 Nominated Adviser mandates, making him the firm’s most active independent nominated adviser. An active voice in the AIM market, he also has extensive experience of financial services and TMT, as well as advising UK and international companies on fundraisings, IPOs and mergers and acquisitions.

Commenting on the appointment, CEO Patrick Claridge said: “Gerry has a first class reputation in the UK small cap capital markets sector and is widely regarded as an influential figure within the growth company sector. I am delighted to announce that he is joining Northland. He strengthens the team as we look to expand.”

“I am excited about joining Northland,” added Beaney. “With this team there is a real opportunity to build the company’s presence in the growth company market.”
