Shortly after making Charles Hopkinson Woolley head of alternatives and product, Mayfair-based firm NewSmith Asset Management has appointed Guy Jackson head of compliance and Michael Wahnich head of risk.
Jackson previously held roles at Rexiter Captial Management, Inscape and, most recently, was joint compliance and money laundering reporting officer role at Nutmeg.
Wahnich has many years’ experience in risk, notably at Brevan Howard, where he spent six years. He joins the company from International Asset Management.
Commenting on the two newest additions, CEO Ron Carlson said: “Michael and Guy’s appointments add to the bench strength in NewSmith as we expand the product offering and work deeper with our partners at SuMi TRUST, one of Japan’s biggest institutional investors. These additional team members join those who came on board earlier this year: Nick Watts as partner and vice chairman and Matthew Wright from Carmignac as head of UK and European distribution.”
