KPMG has announced that Simon Pilkington, an experienced transactions adviser, will join as a new Partner in its Strategy Advisory team.

Effective from April, Pilkington will take the lead on the company’s defence, security and intelligence practice. He joins from PwC, where he co-led the firm’s aerospace and defence work, and has spent the past 16 years overseeing major bid, transactions and commercial projects involving government and private clients in the defence industry.

Simon’s experience of advising businesses and defence organisations on complex commercial transactions and projects will help our clients to protect their margins and get the most out of their commercial negotiations,” said Bernard Brown, Head of Defence for KPMG.

“The defence industry is facing numerous challenges, including increased competition from overseas as well as managing the costs of materials and complex supply chains.

“This is one of many such appointments that we are making to ensure that we have the capacity to deliver excellent quality work for our defence clients.”
