Deloitte appoints new leader for Treasury Services Assurance

Multinational professional services network Deloitte has made an appointment to its Treasury Services Assurance team. Alex Armstrong has been appointed to the Treasury Services Assurance team and will be responsible for leading the division that assists some of the Deloitte’s biggest corporate and financial service clients.

Speaking about the appointment, Steve Williams, a senior partner for Deloitte in Scotland and Northern Ireland, said: “This appointment is a sign of our intent to continue investing and growing in Scotland. It is a fascinating and challenging time for Scotland and its economy, and we are proud to have people with the knowledge of Armstrong within Deloitte to provide our clients with the critical advice they need to tackle the challenges and embrace the opportunities in the years to come.”

M&S names Katharine Haenelt as new head of trading for fresh food

Multinational British retailer Marks & Spencer (M&S) has appointed Katharine Haenelt as its new head of trading for meat, fish, dairy and poultry, effective September 2018. Prior to joining M&S, Haenelt worked at ABP Food Group, where she held multiple senior positions until she was eventually promoted to sales and marketing director.

M&S MD of food Stuart Machin commented on Haenelt’s appointment: “Katharine has unrivalled experience of the meat and poultry industry and we will put her expertise and knowledge to work as a part of our transformation plans.”
